Every year in April, SCP hosts Fiesta Skate, our club's signature competition, and the largest figure skating competition in Arizona. The competition attracts skaters and judges from across the country. There are events for all levels, Basic Skills to Senior.

​Fiesta Skate Special Awards:
Skating Club Of Phoenix Memorial Trophy
This trophy is dedicated to all deceased SCP members and is awarded annually at Fiesta Skate to encourage interpretation of music by our skaters. The trophy will be awarded to the skater who receives the highest IJS Components score in the Intermediate level free skating event. Recipient will have their name engraved on the Memorial Trophy which will remain at the Club’s home rink, AZ Ice Peoria, Arizona. A plaque will be presented to the winner.

Jacqueline Witt Memorial Trophy Award
This trophy is dedicated to the memory of Jacqueline Witt, our longest member and co-founder of Fiesta Skate. The trophy will be awarded to the skater with the most outstanding free skating performance at the Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile Free Skate level, as selected by the judges. Recipient will have their name engraved on the Jacqueline Witt Trophy which will remain at the Club's home rink, AZ Ice Peoria, Arizona. A plaque will be presented to the winners.

Adult Rising Star Award
Chosen by the adult level competitors, this award will be presented by the SCP adult team to the adult skater who shows exceptional sportsmanship on and off the ice. The recipient of this award exudes a true passion for skating, creates a supportive skating community at their training facility and is an inspiration to other adult skaters. A plaque will be presented to the winner.
Rising Star Award
Awarded for the most outstanding free skating performance at the Pre-Preliminary level. An engraved trophy, with the recipient’s name inscribed on it, remains on display at the Club rink. A plaque will be presented to the winner.
Basic Skills Rising Star Award
Awarded for the most outstanding free skating performance in the Aspire 1 through Aspire 4 levels. This award is chosen by the Skating Club of Phoenix Jr. Board Members and a plaque will be presented to the winner.
AZ State Championships

The Skating Club of Phoenix is proud to host a double competition every fall: Arizona State Championships & Desert West! Arizona State Championships is open to skaters who are members of an Arizona figure skating club, or are residents of Arizona. It is an opportunity for our skaters to compete against each other, and be recognized as the best in the state.

Desert West celebrates up-and-coming skaters with a Basic Skills Learn to Skate competition for young skaters and adults. Featuring levels from Snowplow Sam to Free Skate 6, Adult 1-6, plus Showcase events, this competition is an opportunity for you to show off everything that you've learned on the ice in the past year!

Autumn Antics
November 2nd & 3rd, 2024
Typically held in November, Autumn Antics is the theatrical competition of the year for the Skating Club of Phoenix, and Arizona's only all-Showcase competition! Skaters compete and perform for judges with experience in the arts & theater, dance, radio, film, and television.
